Diagnostic Routine S
Diagnostic Overview
The Hazard Lamp Function Is Inoperative Or Always On
Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 90 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
REFER to Hazard Lamps .
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks
- Inspect the FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module) for damage.
Pinpoint Test
1. CHECK THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE BCM (Body Control Module) SELF-TEST
1. Ignition ON.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) on-demand self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B1D35:11 present?
2. ISOLATE THE FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module) AS THE CAUSE OF DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B1D35:11
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module).
3. Ignition ON.
4. Using a scan tool, perform BCM (Body Control Module) on-demand self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B1D35:11 still present?
3. CHECK THE HAZARD LAMP REQUEST INPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280B.
3. Measure:
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
4. CHECK FOR A VOLTAGE SIGNAL TO THE FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module)
1. Disconnect: FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module).
2. Ignition OFF.
3. Measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
5. CHECK THE HAZARD FLASHER LAMP REQUEST INPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Disconnect BCM (Body Control Module) C2280B.
2. Measure:
Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
6. CHECK FOR CORRECT FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module) OPERATION
1. Disconnect and inspect all FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module) connectors.
2. Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary
3. Reconnect the FCIM (Front Controls Interface Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
Is the concern still present?
7. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (Body Control Module) OPERATION
1. Disconnect and inspect all BCM (Body Control Module) connectors.
2. Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary
3. Reconnect the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
4. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
Is the concern still present?
