Diagnostic Overview

The Stability-Traction Control Disabled Indicator (Sliding Car OFF Icon) Is Never or Always On

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Stability-Traction Control Disabled Indicator (Sliding Car OFF Icon) .

If the traction control disabled (OFF) indicator request message is missing for less than 5 seconds, the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) remains in the last indication state (on or off) based upon the last known good message received. If the traction control disabled (OFF) indicator request message is missing for 5 seconds or longer, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) sets DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0121:00 in continuous memory and defaults the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) off.

Pinpoint Test

1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.

Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?








2. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) MODULE SELF-TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform the ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) module self-test.

Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?








3. CHECK FOR THE KEY TYPE

1. Check if the key is the MyKey(R) programmed key or an administrator key. Refer the Owners Literature.

Is the key an administrator key?








4. CHECK THE TRACTION CONTROL SETTING THROUGH THE MESSAGE CENTER

1. Using the LH (Left Hand) steering wheel switch, navigate to the traction control setting menu and observe the traction control setting.

2. Configure the stability-traction control on then off again.

Does the traction control selection change when the feature is configured on and off?








5. CARRY OUT THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) INDICATOR LAMP CONTROL ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE SCAN TOOL

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, view the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) PIDs (Parameter Identifications).

3. Select the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) PID (Parameter Identification) (STAB_TC_LMP). Command the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) on and off while observing the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon).

Does the stability-traction control disabled indicator (sliding car OFF icon) illuminate when commanded on and turn off when commanded off?
