BCM (Body Control Module) DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. CHECK THE SAFETY BELT WARNING CHIME OPERATION
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Ignition ON.
3. Monitor the safety belt warning chime when the ignition is transitioned from OFF to RUN.
Does the safety belt warning chime operate for approximately 6 seconds?
2. CHECK THE INTERIOR LAMPS OPERATION
1. Open and close the driver door.
2. Observe the interior lamps.
Do the interior lamps operate correctly from the driver door?
3. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE BCM (Body Control Module) SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B10F1:14 present?
4. CHECK THE KEY-IN-IGNITION INPUT CIRCUIT FOR VOLTAGE
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Insert the key into the ignition cylinder.
3. Disconnect: BCM (Body Control Module) C2280B.
4. Measure:
Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?
5. CHECK THE IGNITION SWITCH
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect: Ignition Switch.
3. Carry out the ignition switch component test.
Is the ignition switch OK?
6. CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (Body Control Module) OPERATION
1. Ignition OFF.
2. Disconnect and inspect all BCM (Body Control Module) connectors.
3. Repair:
- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary
4. Reconnect the BCM (Body Control Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present
Is the concern still present?
