Diagnostic Overview

The Power Release Seat Does Not Latch to the Floor

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 120 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Seating - Power Release .

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-Checks

Inspect the seat-to-floor latches on the seat track for damage.

Verify that BJB (Battery Junction Box) fuse 61 (20A) is OK.

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE INTERIOR DEMAND LIGHTING/BATTERY SAVER OPERATION

1. Open any of the vehicle doors and check the interior courtesy lamp operation.

2. Check the electrical operation of the opposite seat release system to verify system voltage is present.

Do the interior lamps illuminate when a door is opened?








2. CHECK THE SEAT LATCH FEET FOR MANUAL MECHANICAL OPERATION

1. Inspect both latch feet on the affected seat to make sure neither of the latches are closed and manually release them from the pull strap, if needed.

2. Make sure the seat release pull strap is not binding and holding the latches in a released state.

3. Inspect the release cables for kinks or damage causing the cable(s) to bind.

4. Check the cables and cable mounting for disconnection.

Is a mechanical concern found?








3. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE POWER RELEASE SEAT MOTOR

1. Disconnect: Suspect LH (Left Hand) Power Release Seat Motor C3345 or RH (Right Hand) Power Release Seat Motor C3346.

2. Measure:





Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?








4. CHECK THE SUSPECT POWER RELEASE SEAT MOTOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Measure:





Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?
