Diagnostic Overview

Unable To Pair Bluetooth Device

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

REFER to Bluetooth Mode .

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION

1. NOTE: Carrying out a Master Reset returns all preference settings to the factory defaults, erases all the phone book and call histories and deletes any devices paired with the SYNC(R) system.
Connect: 105-00120.

2. Using the 105-00120 , connect to the SYNC(R) system using Bluetooth. Follow the tool instructions.

3. Using a scan tool, view the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) PIDs (Parameter Identifications).

4. Monitor the Bluetooth device paired PID (BT_PAIR) and the Bluetooth device connected PID (BT_CONN).

Do the PIDs (Parameter Identifications) both read "Yes"?








2. CHECK FOR CORRECT APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) OPERATION

1. Disconnect and inspect the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) connector.

2. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged pins - install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins - install new pins as necessary

3. Reconnect the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.

4. Wait 2 minutes for the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module) to re-initialize.

5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.
