Diagnostic Overview

The SOD-R Does Not Respond To The Scan Tool Or Cannot Be Configured

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 136 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

The SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right) uses an address ground pin for configuration. The address ground is necessary so the BLIS(R) or the CTA (Cross Traffic Alert) system can decipher between the SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right) and the SOD-L (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Left) during configuration. The SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right) communicates over the MS-CAN (Medium Speed Controller Area Network).

Pinpoint Test

1. VERIFY THE SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right) PASSES THE NETWORK TEST

1. Using a scan tool, perform a network test.

Does the SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right) pass the network test?

2. CHECK THE SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right) ADDRESS GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN

1. Disconnect: SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right).

2. Measure:

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

3. CONFIGURE THE SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right)

1. Using a scan tool, perform the PMI (Programmable Module Installation) for the SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right). Follow the programming procedure as directed by the scan tool. REFER to Programmable Module Installation (PMI) .

2. Repeat the network test.

Does the SOD-R (Side Obstacle Detection Control Module - Right) pass the network test?
