Diagnostic Overview

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions






Pinpoint Test

1. VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN

1. Ignition ON.

2. Verify that there is an observable symptom present.

Is an observable symptom present?








2. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, perform network test.

Does the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) pass the network test?








3. RECHECK THE PAM (Parking Aid Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)

1. Using a scan tool, clear the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

2. Operate the system and test the system for normal operation.

3. Using a scan tool, repeat the PAM (Parking Aid Module) self-test.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0155:00 still present?








4. CHECK FOR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0155 OR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0155:00 IN OTHER MODULES

1. Using a scan tool, clear all DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

2. Ignition OFF.

3. Wait 10 seconds.

4. Using a scan tool, perform self-test.

5. Retrieve the continuous memory DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from all modules.

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0155 or DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0155:00 set in any module?








5. CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (Parking Aid Module) OPERATION

1. Disconnect and inspect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connector.

2. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary

3. Reconnect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connector. Make sure it seats and latches correctly.

4. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
