Diagnostic Routine DD
Diagnostic Overview
The Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Gauge Is Inoperative
NOTE: If DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00 sets in the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster), other observable symptoms can be an inoperative tachometer, temperature gauge or odometer.
REFER to Four Wheel Drive (4WD) Gauge .
If the AWD (All-Wheel Drive) lock torque actual message is missing for 5 seconds or less or if the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) receives invalid torque data for 5 seconds or less, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) defaults the bar graphs in the display off.
If the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) does not receive the AWD (All-Wheel Drive) lock torque actual message from the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) for more than 5 seconds, the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) sets DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0100:00 in continuous memory and defaults the bar graphs in the display off.
Pinpoint Test
1. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.
Are any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?
2. RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE PCM (Powertrain Control Module) SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) self-test.
Are any 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?
3. CHECK THE DISPLAY MODE MENU
1. On the optional IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster), in the display mode menu, press the LH (Left Hand) steering wheel switch to the right to display the 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) gauge.
2. On the base IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster), in the Information display mode, press the LH (Left Hand) steering wheel switch to the right then down to display the 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) gauge.
Does the 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) gauge display?
