Pinpoint Test G: Continuous or Intermittent Tone When No Obstacles or Fault Codes Are Present

Normal Operation

With the ignition switch in the RUN position and the REVERSE (R) gear selected, the parking aid system calculates the distance to an object by the use of a radar sensor. The speaker increases its warning tone rate as the vehicle gets closer to an obstacle. When an object is detected within 46 cm (18 in) of the vehicle, the warning tone becomes continuous. A dirty, damaged or obstructed rear bumper results in the parking aid system not operating correctly.

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following:

- Rear bumper cover impact damage, alignment or obstruction concerns
- Parking Aid Module (PAM)
