Spot Lamp - Installation

1. Check to be certain that the rivet nuts (4) are properly installed and in good condition in the outer A-pillar (5).
2. Install the gasket (3) onto the bracket and guide tube unit (1).
3. Position the bracket and guide tube with the gasket onto the A-pillar.
4. Install and tighten the two screws (2) that secure the spot lamp bracket and guide tube unit to the outside of the A-pillar. Tighten the screws to 6 Nm (54 in. lbs.).
5. From the outside of the vehicle, install the spot lamp head, tube and shaft unit (1) through the bracket and guide tube unit (2) on the outer A-pillar (3) until the head assembly clamp bottoms against the guide tube.
6. From inside the vehicle, thread the spot lamp handle (7) wire through the A-pillar trim (8) and set the handle on the instrument panel.
7. Reconnect the handle wire connector (3) to the overhead wire harness connector (2).
8. Position the A-pillar trim over the spot lamp guide tube, then reinstall the A-pillar trim onto the inside of the A-pillar. A-Pillar Trim Panel - Installation.
9. Position the handle to the tube and shaft being certain to engage the flat on the shaft and the notch in the tube.
10. Install the wedge insert (6) into the handle, then install and tighten the screw (5) that secures the spot lamp handle to the spot lamp head (1) tube and shaft. Be certain to apply pressure on the handle against the shaft to ensure a good electrical contact. Tighten the screw to 7 Nm (65 in. lbs.).
11. Reinstall the clip (4) that secures the spot lamp handle wire to the spot lamp guide tube.
12. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
13. Perform the spot lamp adjustment procedures as required. Adjustments.
