Installation
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Refer to the following table when the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and/or transaxle has been replaced to determine if the TCM memory must be erased.
NOTE: Verify that both dowel pins are present in the engine before installing the transmission.
1. Lift transmission into position.
2. Install the transmission cooler lines.
3. Install the lower transmission bell housing bolts (2) and tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
4. Raise the transmission using a screw jack (2).
5. Install the transmission crossmember and bolts (2) tighten to 75 Nm (55 ft lbs.).
6. Install the through bolt at the front transmission mount (1) and tighten to 75 Nm (55 ft lbs.).
7. Install rear mount through bolt (1) and tighten bolt to 75 Nm (55 ft lbs.).
8. Install rear mount to transaxle and tighten bolts (1) to 75 Nm (55 ft lbs.).
9. Install new converter bolts (1) and tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
10. Install cover at torque converter (1).
11. Install left and right front lower splash shields.
12. Install left and right half shafts to the transaxle Half Shaft - Installation.
13. Install both front wheels Tires And Wheels - Installation.
14. Lower hoist.
15. Install upper bell housing bolts (1) and tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
16. Install the upper mount bolts and tighten to 75 Nm (55 ft lbs.).
17. Install the upper mount through bolt and tighten to 75 Nm (55 ft lbs.).
18. Install the throttle body support bracket (1) and tighten to 11 Nm (105 in. lbs.).
19. Connect the transmission vent tube (1).
20. Install the heater hose at transmission cooler tube (3).
21. Connect coolant lines (1) at transmission cooler.
22. Install the shifter cable (1) and bracket (2), tighten nut to 11 Nm (105 in. lbs.).
23. Install the vacuum supply lines.
24. Install intake air tube (1).
25. Fill engine coolant Service and Repair.
26. Install the battery tray (1).
27. Install the battery.
28. Install the air cleaner assembly (1).
29. Connect battery cables (2).
30. Install transmission fill tube (1). Tighten bolt to 9 Nm (79 in. lbs.).
CAUTION: Use only MOPAR (R) CVTF +4. Use of any other type of automatic transmission fluid may cause damage to the transaxle.
31. Fill transmission with fluid to correct level.
32. Road test vehicle and inspect for leaks.
