TEST NOTE:
All symptoms listed above are diagnosed using the same tests. The title for the tests will be P-1696 PCM FAILURE EEPROM WRITE DENIED.

WHEN MONITORED
With the Ignition Key on.

SET CONDITION
An attempt to program/write to the internal EEPROM failed.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- PCM defective "write failure"
- PCM defective "write refused"
- SRI memory mileage within DRB specified range
- SRI memory "SRI mileage invalid"
- SRI memory needs updating
