SYMPTOM
P-0340 NO CAM SIGNAL AT PCM
WHEN MONITORED
During engine cranking, after a number of crank position sensor signals have been detected.
SET CONDITION
Signals are not received from the camshaft position sensor when signals are received from the crankshaft position sensor.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Engine does not start
- 8-volt supply circuit open
- CMP circuit wiring harness observable defect
- CMP connector observable defect
- CMP sensor ground ckt to harn splice open
- Camshaft target magnet damaged/misaligned
- CMP sensor defective
- PCM def (no cam signal)
- CMP sensor sig ckt short to 8v power supply
- CMP sensor signal circuit open
- CMP sensor signal circuit short to ground
- CMP sensor signal ckt short to sensor ground
