Throttle Body Cleaning
CAUTIONS:- When loosening a Phillips screw which has been firmly tightened, use a Phillips screwdriver that is an exact fit for the screw.
- Do not remove the throttle valve.
- Be careful when removing the throttle position sensor and idle air control motor mounting screws, as adhesive has been applied to these screws.
CLEANING PROCEDURE
1. Clean all throttle body parts separately.
NOTE: DO NOT use solvent to clean the following:
- Throttle position sensor/Closed throttle position switch
- Idle air control motor
If these parts are immersed in solvent, their insulation will deteriorate. Wipe clean with a cloth only.
2. Check if the vacuum port or passage is clogged. Use compressed air to clean the vacuum passage.
