Crossmember - Removal

REMOVAL

1500 Light Duty





1. Raise and support the vehicle. Maintenance
2. Remove the transfer case skid plate(4) and crossmember (2), if equipped. Transfer Case





3. Remove the nuts (3) fastening the transmission mount (1) to the transmission crossmember (2).





4. Support the transmission with a transmission jack or suitable lifting device.
5. Remove the four bolts (1) and remove the transmission crossmember (2).

2500 - 3500 Heavy Duty





1. Remove the transfer case skid plate(2), if equipped. Transfer Case





2. Remove the nuts (3) fastening the transmission mount (1) to the transmission crossmember (2).





3. Support the transmission with a transmission jack or suitable lifting device.
4. Remove the four bolts (1) and nuts (3) and remove the transmission crossmember (2).
