A/C Condenser - Removal






6.7L DIESEL ENGINE

WARNING: Refer to the applicable warnings and cautions for this system before performing the following operation Warning and Caution . Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE: A/C condenser for manual transmission model shown. Shown with front fascia removed for clarity. Automatic transmission model similar.





1. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system Refrigerant System Recovery.
2. Remove the grille.
3. If equipped, disconnect the automatic transmission cooler lines from the transmission fluid cooler fittings located at each end of the A/C condenser (1) Service and Repair.
4. Remove the bolts (6 and 8) that secure the A/C liquid line (5) and the A/C discharge line (9) from the A/C condenser.
5. Disconnect the A/C liquid and discharge lines from the A/C condenser and remove and discard the O-ring seals and gaskets.
6. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and condenser ports.
7. Remove the four bolts (2, 7 and 10) that secure the A/C condenser to the charge air cooler.
8. Remove the A/C condenser from the engine compartment.
9. If required, remove the four bolts (4) that secure the four retaining brackets (3) to the A/C condenser and remove the brackets. Replace the rubber isolators if necessary.
