Headliner - Removal

REMOVAL

Standard Cab





CAUTION: Hands should be clean or clean cloth gloves used when handling the headliner to avoid damage to the headliner.

1. Remove the A-pillar trim A-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal.
2. Remove the upper B-pillar trim B-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal.
3. Remove the screws and remove the visor supports.
4. Remove the screws (2) and remove the visors (1). Disconnect the electrical connectors, if equipped.





5. Using a small flat bladed tool, open the coat hook screw cover (2) and remove the screws and coat hooks.





6. Disconnect the CHMSL wiring electrical connector.





7. Remove the instrument panel side trim covers and disconnect the electrical connectors (1).
8. Separate the support push pin fasteners (2).





9. Disconnect the A-pillar wiring and clips (3).
10. Remove the headliner.

Quad/Crew/Mega Cab





CAUTION: Hands should be clean or clean cloth gloves used when handling the headliner to avoid damage to the headliner.

1. Remove the A-pillar trim A-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal.
2. Remove the upper B-pillar trim B-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal.
3. Remove the upper C-pillar trim, if equipped C-Pillar Trim Panel - Removal.
4. Remove the door opening seals.
5. Remove the floor console Floor Console - Removal.





6. Disconnect the CHMSL wiring electrical connector.





7. Remove the instrument panel side trim covers and disconnect the electrical connectors (1).
8. Separate the support push pin fasteners (2).





9. Disconnect the A-pillar wiring and clips (3).
10. Disengage the sunroof trim ring if equipped.





11. Remove the DVD monitor screws (2) and separate the monitor (1) from the roof, if equipped.





12. Disconnect the DVD housing electrical connectors (1), if equipped.
13. Remove the overhead console Front Overhead Console - Removal.
14. Remove the headrests.
15. Fold all seating into the lowest position.





16. Disconnect the sunroof module electrical connector (1) from the sunroof module takeout, if equipped.





17. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the body harness at the C-pillar left hand side.
18. Remove the body harness clip from the C-pillar inner left hand side, if equipped.
19. Disconnect the main harness from the body harness at the C-pillar inner right hand side.





20. Install some protective tape or equivalent to cover the exposed sheet metal flange on the front passenger door opening.
21. Tip the headliner so the right hand side is low in the vehicle and left hand side is highest in Z.
22. Remove the headliner from the front passenger door.
23. Remove the visor outboard retainer from the body.
24. Remove the overhead console backing plate from the body taking care not to break the backing plate.
25. Remove the visor center support mounting clips.
26. Remove the coat hook mounting clips.
27. Remove the DVD mounting clips.
