Hood Hinge - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Open and support the hood (2) with a suitable prop or block.
2. For BUX models, disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least two minutes.
3. For BUX models, remove the electronic pedestrian protection hood hinge actuator,Electronic Pedestrian Protection Hood Hinge Actuator - Removal
4. If the vehicle is so equipped, disconnect the upper end of the gas support cylinder from the upper bracket of the hood hinge (3), Gas Prop - Removal.
5. Mark the location of the hood hinge upper bracket on the hood (2) inner panel to aid reinstallation.
6. Remove the two screws (1) that secure the hinge to the hood.
7. Mark the hinge lower bracket location on the inside of the front fender ledge (5) to aid reinstallation.
8. Remove the two screws (4) that secure the hinge to the fender.
9. Remove the hood hinge from the vehicle.
