Hood Hinge - Installation

INSTALLATION





1. For BUX models, in the case of active hood deployment,Service and Repair.
2. Using the reference marks, position the lower bracket of the hood hinge (3) to the inside of the front fender ledge (5) on the vehicle.
3. Install and tighten the two screws (4) that secure the hinge to the fender. Tighten the screws to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
4. Position the hood panel (2) to the upper hinge bracket on the vehicle.
5. Install and tighten the two screws (2) that secure the hinge to the hood. Tighten the screws to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).
6. For BUX models, install the electronic pedestrian protection hood hinge actuator, Electronic Pedestrian Protection Hood Hinge Actuator - Installation.
7. For BUX models, connect the negative battery cable and wait at least two minutes.
8. If the vehicle is so equipped, reinstall the upper end of the gas support cylinder to the upper hinge bracket, Gas Prop - Installation.
9. Remove the fixture being used to support the hood for service and close the hood.
10. Adjust the hood hinge position as necessary to achieve proper spacing and operation.
