Convertible Soft Top

REMOVAL




Convertible Top-Vertical Position
1. Remove the rear and side trunk trim panels. Trunk Trim Panel - Removal.
2. Remove the appropriate quarter trim panel. Quarter Trim Panel - Removal.
3. Place the top (2) in the vertical position.
4. Remove the header and front side rail trim fasteners and carefully pull down on the trim disengaging the retainers.
5. Remove the two lower push-pins from the middle rail trim panel and carefully pull the trim disengaging the retainers.

NOTE: Do not remove the rear backlite from the rear panel.

6. Remove the top cover back to the rear panel. The top cover and rear panel will be removed from the vehicle at the same time. Folding Top Cover - Removal
7. Remove the mattress pad.





8. Lower the top to the header. Do not latch at the header.
9. Remove the springs (4) from the 2/3 bow (2 and 3).
10. Remove the 2/3 mounting fasteners (1) and remove from the convertible top.
11. Place the top in the vertical position.
12. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
13. Disconnect the heated backlite electrical connectors.
14. Remove the middle side rail weather-strips on both sides.
15. Remove the rear panel with the top cover from the vehicle. Folding Top - Removal.





16. Remove the bolts to the front header casting assembly (12) and remove from header casting.
17. Remove the hydraulic cylinder from the hinge. Folding Top Hydraulic Cylinder - Removal.





18. Make marks with a scribe or grease pencil to align the rail upon installation.
19. Remove the bolts (1) to the center rail assembly (2) and remove from vehicle.
