Power Steering Pump - Removal

1. Remove negative (-) battery cable from battery and isolate cable.
2. Remove power steering fluid reservoir. Power Steering Fluid Reservoir - Removal
3. Remove pressure hose (4) from pump (1).
4. Raise and support vehicle. Maintenance
5. Remove nuts mounting front and rear motor mounts to engine cradle (one nut each mount).
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Remove air cleaner housing. Air Cleaner Housing - Removal
8. Remove accessory drive belt. Accessory Drive Belt - Removal
9. Remove two bolts fastening upper motor mount to right frame rail.
10. Place floor jack (4) with an appropriate sized block of wood (3) on it below engine oil pan (1).
CAUTION: When lifting engine, DO NOT raise engine more than necessary or damage to driveline half shaft, fuel tubes from frame rail to engine and possibly other components will occur.
11. Carefully raise accessory drive end of engine with floor jack approximately one inch (2) (measured between right motor mount (1) and frame rail (3).
12. Remove three pump mounting bolts (3) through pump pulley (not shown in figure).
13. Remove A/C wiring harness routing clip from rear of pump.
14. Remove pump (2) (with pulley and supply hose) from engine compartment.
15. If pulley needs removal, Power Steering Pump Pulley - Removal.
