Right Rear Door Ajar Circuit Open
*RIGHT REAR DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT OPEN

Diagnostic Test
1. BCM NOT RESPONDING TO INPUT
Open the right rear door.
With the scan tool in Inputs/Outputs, read the RR DOOR AJAR SW state.
Does the scan tool display CLOSED?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 2
2. (G982) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
Disconnect the Passenger Rear Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch harness connector.
Using a 12-volt Test Light connected to 12-volts, check the (G982) Ground circuit.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the (G982) Ground circuit for an open to the Passenger Door Module C1 connector.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
3. PASSENGER REAR DOOR LOCK MOTOR/AJAR SWITCH OPEN
Connect a jumper wire between the (G76) Right Rear Door Ajar Switch Sense circuit and the (G982) Ground circuit.
With the scan tool in Inputs/Outputs, read the RR DOOR AJAR SW state.
Does the scan tool display CLOSED?
Yes
- Replace the Passenger Rear Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 4
4. (G76) RIGHT REAR DOOR AJAR SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the BCM C2 connector.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the resistance of the (G76) Right Rear Door Ajar Switch Sense circuit from the BCM C2 connector to the Passenger Rear Door Lock Motor/Ajar Switch connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
No
- Repair the (G76) Right Rear Door Ajar Switch Sense circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
