Verification Test VER-2A - Road Test Verification

IMPORTANT NOTE: If the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has been changed and the correct VIN and mileage have not been programmed, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set in the ABS and Air bag modules. In addition, if the vehicle is equipped with a Smart Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM), Secret Key data must be updated to enable starting.

For ABS and Air Bag systems:

ACTION:
1. Enter correct VIN and Mileage in PCM.
2. Erase codes in ABS and Air Bag modules.

For SKIM theft alarm:

ACTION:
1. Connect the DRB to the data link connector.
2. Go to Engine, Misc. and place the SKIM in secured access mode, by using the appropriate PIN code for this vehicle.
3. Select Update the Secret Key data, data will be transferred from the SKIM to the PCM. Inspect the vehicle to ensure that all engine components are connected.

If there are any diagnostic trouble codes that have not been repaired, perform DTC TEST and follow the path specified. After all diagnostic trouble codes have been repaired, return to the appropriate Verification Test.

If this verification procedure is being performed after a NO TROUBLE CODE test, do the following:

1. Check to see if the initial symptom still exists.
2. If the initial or another symptom exists, the repair is not complete. Check for any technical service bulletins or flash updates and return to TEST NTC-1A if necessary.
3. Connect the DRB to the data link connector.
4. Using the DRB erase any diagnostic trouble codes and reset all values.
5. Road test vehicle, use all accessories that may be related to this repair.
6. If the repaired trouble code or symptom was seen on the road test, the repair is not complete. Check for any technical service bulletins or flash updates and return to the appropriate NTC or DTC TEST.
7. If another trouble code has set, perform DTC TEST and follow the path specified for that trouble code.
8. If there are no trouble codes or the symptom no longer exists, the repair was successful and is now complete.
