Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

Fuel Pressure Regulator:




REMOVAL
1. Fuel system pressure must be released prior to service. Service and Repair
2. Disconnect negative battery cable, and remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove 3 attaching screws from pressure regulator. Lift pressure regulator off of throttle body.
4. Remove gasket and O-ring from fuel pressure regulator.
INSTALLATION
1. Install new O-ring and gasket and press fuel pressure regulator into place in throttle body. Install 3 mounting screws and torque to 5 Nm (40 lb-in).
2. Reconnect negative battery cable.
3. Using the appropriate tester (DRB II) or equivalent scanner, place ignition switch in "RUN" position and use Actuate Output Test "Auto Shutdown (ASD) Relay", to activate fuel pump and pressurize system.
CAUTION: The ASD relay and the fuel pump relay will remain energized for 7 minutes during this test unless the test is stopped or the ignition switch is turned to the OFF position.
4. Check for leaks.
