Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L)Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (Diesel) Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (Diesel).

2. Remove the upper oil level indicator bolt (1).

3. Remove the right engine mount and bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side.




4. Remove the lower oil level indicator bolt (1).

5. Remove the level indicator tube.

6. Remove and discard the oil level indicator O-ring seal.

Installation Procedure




1. Install a NEW O-ring seal onto the oil level indicator.

2. Install the oil level indicator.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the lower oil level indicator bolt (1) and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




4. Install the upper oil level indicator bolt (1) and tighten to 21 Nm (15 lb ft).

5. Install right engine mount and bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side.

6. Install the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L)Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (Diesel) Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (Diesel).
