Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement - Bank 1

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve cooler assembly. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement).
3. Remove the right fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Right Side (Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Right Side).
4. Remove the fuel high pressure pipes - pump to rail. Refer to Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Pump to Rail (Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Pump to Rail).
5. Remove the fuel high pressure pipes - rail to rail. Refer to Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Rail to Rail (Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Rail to Rail).




6. Disconnect the high pressure fuel pipes (1).




7. Remove the fuel rail fasteners (1) and fuel injection fuel rail assembly (2).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Position the fuel injection fuel rail assembly (2) and install the fuel rail fasteners (1). Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft)




2. Install the fuel rail feed pipe fittings (1) and tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb ft).
3. Install the fuel high pressure pipes - rail to rail. Refer to Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Rail to Rail (Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Rail to Rail).
4. Install the fuel high pressure pipes - pump to rail. Refer to Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Pump to Rail (Fuel High Pressure Pipe Replacement - Pump to Rail).
5. Install the right fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Right Side (Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Right Side).
6. Install the exhaust gas recirculation valve cooler assembly. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Cooler Replacement).
7. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming (Fuel System Priming).
8. Start the engine.
If the engine does not start, repeat the above step.
9. Inspect the fuel system for leaks.
10. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
