Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement - Bank 2

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (4.3L) (Service and Repair)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) (Service and Repair)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (6.6L) (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the left fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the right fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the left fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).




6. Disconnect the fuel rail temperature (FRT) sensor electrical connector.
7. Remove the fuel return pipe. Refer to Fuel Return Pipe Replacement (Service and Repair).




8. Remove the 2 fuel rail bolts and the fuel rail assembly.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

1. Position the fuel rail assembly and install the 2 bolts and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
2. Install the fuel return pipe. Refer to Fuel Return Pipe Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Connect the FRT sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the left fuel injector feed pipes. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
5. Install the right fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair).
6. Install the left fuel rail fuel feed pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Left Side (Service and Repair).
7. Install the A/C compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (4.3L) (Service and Repair)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L) (Service and Repair)Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement (6.6L) (Service and Repair).
8. Prime the fuel system. Refer to Fuel System Priming (Fuel System Priming).
9. Start the engine.
If the engine does not start, repeat the above step.
10. Inspect the fuel system for fuel leaks.
11. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
