Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement (LMM)

Oil Level Indicator and Tube Replacement (LMM) (6.6L)

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the upper fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) (Service and Repair)Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (6.6L) (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the upper oil fill tube bolt (1).




3. Remove the right engine mount and bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .
4. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (4.3L) Starter Motor Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L) Starter Motor Replacement (6.6L) .
5. Remove the lower oil fill tube bolt (1).
6. Remove and discard the oil fill tube O-ring seal.



Installation Procedure





1. Install a NEW O-ring seal onto the oil fill tube.
2. Install the oil fill tube.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

3. Install the lower oil fill tube bolt (1).

Tighten the bolts to 21 N.m (15 lb ft).

4. Install the starter. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement (4.3L) Starter Motor Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L) Starter Motor Replacement (6.6L) .




5. Install the upper oil fill tube bolt (1).

Tighten the bolts to 21 N.m (15 lb ft).

6. Install the right engine mount and bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side (Service and Repair) .
7. Install the upper radiator fan shroud. Refer to Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L, 7.0L) (Service and Repair)Engine Coolant Fan Upper Shroud Replacement (6.6L) (Service and Repair) .
