- Preliminary Information
IMPORTANT: The following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables.1. Perform A Diagnostic System Check - Power Seat Systems before using the Symptom Tables in order to verify that all of the following conditions are true:
^ There are no DTCs set.
^ The control module(s) can communicate via the serial data link.
2. Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to the following descriptions:
^ Power Seats Circuit Description
^ Power Lumbar Circuit Description
^ Heated Seats Circuit Description
^ Memory Seat Circuit Description
VISUAL/PHYSICAL INSPECTION
^ Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the Power Seats System. Refer to Checking Aftermarket Accessories in Diagrams.
^ Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.
INTERMITTENT
Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent and Poor Connections in Diagrams.

Refer to a symptom diagnostic procedure from the following list in order to diagnose the symptom:
^ Heated Seat Inoperative
^ Power Seat Inoperative
^ Power Seat Does Not Move Forward/Rearward
^ Power Seat Does Not Tilt Forward
^ Power Seat Does Not Tilt Rearward
^ Power Seat Does Not Recline
^ Power Seats - Memory Switch Inoperative
^ Lumbar Support Inoperative
^ Memory Seat Feature Inoperative
^ Seat Jerks or Moves with Difficulty when Adjusted Horizontally
^ Power Seat Adjuster Horizontal Chuck or Looseness
^ Power Seat Adjuster Vertical Chuck or Looseness
^ Power Seat Adjuster Does Not Move Horizontally
^ Power Seat Adjuster Does Not Move Vertically
^ Power Seat Adjuster Inoperative
