Drive Belt: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. In order to gain access to the drive belt, remove the engine coolant reservoir.





2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct.





3. Install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the tensioner arm and rotate the arm counterclockwise.
4. Remove the drive belt.
5. Slowly release the tension on the tensioner arm.

Installation Procedure





1. Route the belt over all the pulleys except the tensioner arm.





2. Observe belt routing for vehicles with air conditioning.





3. Install a 3/8 inch drive wrench on the tensioner arm and rotate the arm counterclockwise.
4. Install the belt over the tensioner arm pulley.
5. Slowly release the tension on the tensioner arm.
6. Confirm that the belt is properly routed.





7. Install the air cleaner intake duct.
Install the engine coolant reservoir.
