Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning (Service Precautions).





1. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the fuel fill pipe to fill pipe housing bolts.
3. Remove the fuel fill pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).




5. Remove the fuel fill pipe lower bolt.




6. Disconnect the fuel tank vent pipe quick connect fittings (1, 3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).
7. Loosen the fuel fill pipe hose clamp (2) at the fuel tank.
8. Remove the fuel fill pipe hose from the fuel tank.




9. Remove the fuel fill pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the fuel fill pipe to the vehicle.




2. Install the fuel fill pipe hose to the fuel tank.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Tighten the fuel fill pipe hose clamp (2) at the fuel tank to 4.5 Nm (40 lb in).
4. Connect the fuel tank vent pipe quick connect fittings (1, 3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service (Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service).




5. Instal the fuel fill pipe lower bolt and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Install the fuel fill pocket. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement (Service and Repair).




8. Install the fuel fill pipe to fill pipe housing bolts and tighten the bolts to 1.5 Nm (13 lb in).
9. Refill the fuel tank.
10. Install the fuel fill cap.
