Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement (North America Vehicles)

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Caution: Refer to Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution.

2. Remove the audio control switch.
3. Remove the cruise control switch.





Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution.

4. Remove 2 steering wheel module mounting bolts and discard them.




5. Disconnect the connectors from the steering wheel module.
6. Remove the steering wheel module.

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution.

1. Connect the steering wheel module connector.
2. Install the steering wheel module.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.

3. Install the steering wheel module mounting bolts.

Tighten the steering wheel module mounting bolts to 8 Nm (71 lb in).

4. Install the cruise control switch.
5. Install the audio control switch.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
