Traction Off Indicator Inoperative

Circuit Description
The Traction Off indicator is controlled by the instrument cluster via serial data messages from the electronic brake control module (EBCM). When the traction control system (TCS) is disabled, the EBCM commands the instrument cluster to turn ON the Traction Off indicator.

The Traction Off indicator will also turn ON during the instrument cluster bulb check. When the ignition switch is turned to ON, the Traction Off indicator will turn ON for approximately 3 seconds and then turn OFF.

The malfunction must be present during diagnosis in order to prevent unnecessary parts replacement. Always begin diagnosis with the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle. Refer to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle. Testing and Inspection
