Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement (without V4U)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement

2. Remove the right front compartment side sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Side Sight Shield Replacement.

3. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Service and Repair.

4. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair.

5. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement.

6. Recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a).

7. Remove the front bumper fascia air deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement - Center Service and Repair.

8. Remove the right engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side.




9. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly nut (1) at condenser.

10. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) from condenser.

11. Remove and discard the sealing washer (3).

12. Remove the air conditioning compressor hose nut (1) at air conditioning evaporator hose assembly joint. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LFX without V4U) Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LFX without V4U)Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LFX with V4U) Air Conditioning Compressor Hose Replacement (LFX with V4U).

13. Remove the air conditioning compressor hose from air conditioning evaporator hose assembly joint.

14. Remove and discard the sealing washers.




15. Remove the air conditioning compressor hose (2) retaining fasteners (1) from the front suspension strut housing.

16. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) from the front suspension strut housing.




17. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly nut (1) at thermal expansion valve.

18. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) from thermal expansion valve.

19. Remove and discard the sealing washers (3).

20. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose from the retainers.

21. Remove the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) from vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install NEW sealing washers (3) to the air conditioning compressor hose (2). Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement.

2. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) to the vehicle.

3. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose (2) to the retainers.

4. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) to the thermal expansion valve.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

5. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly nut (1) at thermal expansion valve and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).




6. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) to the front suspension strut housing.

7. Install the air conditioning compressor hose (2) retaining fasteners (1) to the front suspension strut housing and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

8. Install the air conditioning compressor hose nut (1) at air conditioning evaporator hose assembly joint. 9. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly (2) to the condenser.

10. Install the air conditioning evaporator hose assembly nut (1) at condenser and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).

11. Install the right front compartment side sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Side Sight Shield Replacement.

12. Install the right engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side.

13. Install the front bumper fascia air deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement - Center Service and Repair.

14. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair.

15. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement Service and Repair.

16. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement.

17. Evacuate and charge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a).

18. Install the front compartment front sight shield. Refer to Front Compartment Front Sight Shield Replacement
