Transmission Mount: Service and Repair




Transmission Mount Replacement (All Wheel Drive)

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Support the transmission with a suitable jack and a block of wood.




4. Remove the transmission vent hose from the retainers (6) on the mount assembly.




5. Remove the transmission mount support to body mounting bolts.




6. Remove the transmission mount support to transfer case mounting bolts.
7. Remove the transmission mount support assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the transmission mount support assembly to the vehicle.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

Note: The transmission mount bolts must be tightened in the proper order.

2. Install by hand the transmission mount support to transfer case mounting bolts.

1. Tighten the right side bolt to 110 Nm (81 lb ft).
2. Tighten the left side bolt to 110 Nm (81 lb ft).




3. Install the transmission mount support to body mounting bolts and tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).




4. Install the transmission vent hose to the retainers (6) on the mount assembly.
5. Remove the transmission jack.
6. Install the exhaust system.
7. Lower the vehicle.
