Glove Compartment: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Compartment Replacement IP: Removal Procedure:




1. Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system.
2. Open the Instrument Panel (I/P) compartment box.
3. Remove the passenger-side I/P access panel
4. Remove the passenger-side air deflector.

Compartment Replacement IP: Removal Procedure:




5. Lower the module cover screws.
Lift the lower module cover to access two top screws for I/P compartment.

6. Remove the tour screws from the front I/P compartment.

7. Remove the two screws from the side of I/P compartment,
8. Disconnect the I/P compartment lamp switch and lamp wiring connections.
9. Remove the cool air hose from rear of I/P compartment.
10. Remove the I/P compartment from vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

Compartment Replacement - IP: Installation Procedure:




1. Install the I/P compartment to vehicle.
2. Install the cool air hose to rear of I/P compartment.
3. Connect the I/P compartment lamp switch and the lamp wire connectors.
4. Install the screws to the front of I/P compartment.

Tighten
Tighten the screws until fully seated but not striped.

5. Install the two screws to the side of I/P compartment.

Tighten
Tighten the screws until fully seated but not stripped.

Compartment Replacement - IP: Installation Procedure:




6. Install the screws to lower module cover.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

7. Install the passenger side I/P access panel.
8. Close the I/P compartment door.
9. Enable SIR system.
