Diagnostic Trouble Code P093:

Electronic Brake And Traction Control Module (EBTCM):

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This diagnostic test checks for a traction control system Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) link failure to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

TEST CONDITIONS
1. Code P137 not set.
2. Traction control not failed.

FAILURE CONDITION
No rising edges of the traction control system PWM signals are received for 3 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN
1. "Traction Disabled" message displayed on the Driver Information Center (DIC).
2. PCM disables first gear starts.
3. Transaxle shift adapts are maintained at current levels.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE
1. Checking for a traction control communication code also set because that determines if it is just a PCM problem or not.
2. Checking for proper Output voltage from PCM.
3. Checking CKT 463 for an open.
4. Checking CKT 463 for a short to ground.
5. Checking CKT 463 for a short to voltage
6. Checking for intermittent traction control problem. If not, trouble is in PCM or Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM).
