Air Cleaner Upper Housing Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect the mass airflow sensor wiring harness plug (1).

2. Clip out the engine control module (ECM) wiring harness plug retainer (2) from the air cleaner housing.

3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.





5. Remove the 6 air cleaner housing cover bolts (1).

6. Remove the air cleaner upper housing (2).

7. Remove the mass air flow sensor from the air cleaner upper housing. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the mass air flow sensor to the air cleaner upper housing. Refer to Mass Airflow Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.




2. Install the air cleaner upper housing (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

3. Install the 6 air cleaner housing cover bolts (1) and tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb in).




4. Clip in the ECM wiring harness plug retainer (2) to the air cleaner housing.

5. Connect the mass airflow sensor wiring harness plug (1).

6. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement.
