Flywheel: Service and Repair

11 22 000 - Removing and installing / replacing flywheel (automatic M57T2)





Special tools required:






Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative terminal
- Remove and install centre equipment compartment bulkhead (E65 only)
- Remove tension strut (E60 only)
- Remove and install front assembly underside protection
- Remove and install automatic transmission





Block flywheel (1) with special tools 11 9 260/ 11 9 266/ 11 9 264.
Unfasten flywheel screws.

Installation:
Tightening torque 11 22 1AZ 11 22 Flywheel.
Flywheel (1) is secured with an alignment pin.
Fit new flywheel screws.
Clean crankshaft thread for flywheel screws.

Remove flywheel (1).





Assemble engine.
