11 65 164 Removing and Installing/Replacing Both Blow-Off Valves

11 65 164 Removing And Installing/Replacing Both Blow-Off Valves (N54)

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove intake silencer housing

Only when replacing the blow-off valves.
There is one less blow-off valve for the charge air duct. Therefore, the charge air duct, too, must be renewed with two connections for the blow-off valves.
Conversion of the charge air duct is described at the end of the instructions.

Carefully detach vacuum hoses (1) and lay to one side.

Release locks (1 and 4) by turning approx. 45° in direction of arrow.
Remove both blow-off valves (2 and 3) toward the top.

Insert blow-off valve (1) into charge air duct connection.

Installation note:
The blow-off valve (1) must snap audibly into place.
Turn the lock (2) in the direction of the arrow until the marks (3) align.

Only when replacing the blow-off valve
If the Y-pipe (3) is renewed with two blow-off valves (2), the charge air duct (1) must also be renewed with two connections for the blow-off valves. The vacuum hoses must be adapted.

Install the charge air duct (1) with a connection for the blow-off valve.
Install the blow-off pipe (2) with a blow-off valve. A vacuum line with a T-piece is no longer needed. Instead, install a new vacuum line (3) between the blow-off valve and the electric changeover valve or intake plenum.

Assemble engine.
