Starter Motor: Service and Repair

12 41 020 - Removing and installing/replacing starter motor (M57TU, M57T2)





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative terminal.
- Remove transmission underbody protection





Slacken nut (1).
Slacken nut (2).





Release screws (1).

Note:
Illustrations show M57.





Press starter motor (1) forwards and swivel past engine carrier.
