Intercooler: Service and Repair

17 51 000 Removing and installing/replacing charge air cooler (N54, N55)





Necessary preliminary work:
^ Remove underbody protection
^ If active steering is fitted:
Remove fan cowl.





Important!
Coat sealing rings of snap fasteners with lubricant.
Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without lubricant.





Unclip coolant line (1) from brackets.





Remove charge air cooler cover.

(Picture shows right bolts).





Unlock snap fasteners (1) and detach charge air hoses.

Remove charge air cooler.

Installation Note:
Charge air hoses must audibly snap into place.

Coat sealing rings of charge air hoses with lubricant.

Pressure pipes cannot be fitted without lubricant.
