Windshield Washer Reservoir: Service and Repair

61 71 061 - Replacing fluid reservoir for windscreen washer system





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Partially remove front right wheel arch trim 51 71 039 Removing and Installing/Replacing Front Left or Right Wheel Arch Cover (Rear Section)
- If necessary, remove right front wheel 36 10 300 Removing or Installing Front or Rear Wheel
- E92 without M3, E93:
Remove front right auxiliary direction indicator





Note:
Catch any escaping washer fluid if necessary.

Release cable ties (1) on fluid reservoir.
Feed high-pressure line (2) out of holders.
Unlock filler hose (4) and detach from fitting on fluid reservoir (5).
Release screw (3).
Pull fluid reservoir towards front.






Installation:
Retaining lugs (1) of fluid reservoir must be correctly seated in tabs (2).





Disconnect all plug connections.
Release cable ties on fluid reservoir.
Remove level switch (1) Service and Repair.
Remove windscreen washer pump (2) Service and Repair.
If necessary, remove washer pump for headlight washer system (3) Service and Repair.
Remove washer reservoir.






Installation:
- Replace strainers on washer pumps
- Coat sealing rings of washer pumps with antiseize agent
- Lay lines of washer pumps without kinks and feed into holders on fluid reservoir
- Fill fluid tank for windscreen washer system
