Removing and Installing/Replacing All Rear Seat Belts
72 11 102 - Removing and installing/replacing all rear seat belts
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove capping in luggage compartment Removing and Installing/Replacing Left or Right Capping In Luggage Compartment
- Remove rear seat Rear Seat - Normal
Removing left or right inertia reel unit:
Release screw on inertia reel unit.
Tightening torque 72 11 21AZ [1][2]Seat Belt Systems.
Remove inertia reel unit.
Installation:
Pay attention to coding.
Guide lug of inertia reel units must be correctly seated in opening in body.
Release screws (2) on left and right.
Tightening torques 72 11 22AZ [1][2]Seat Belt Systems.
Remove seat belt (1) on left and right.
Installation:
Secure end fittings of left and right seat belts (1) through guides (2) and stop (3).
Removing middle inertia reel unit:
Partially remove backrest cover Replacing Backrest Cover for Rear Seat (Through-Loading System) on Left.
Release screws (1) and remove cover for inertia reel unit.
Release screw (1) and remove inertia reel unit (2).
Tightening torque 72 11 21AZ [1][2]Seat Belt Systems.
Installation:
Pay attention to coding.
Guide lug of inertia reel unit (2) must be correctly seated in opening in body.
Removing lower strap fittings:
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 72 11 23AZ [1][2]Seat Belt Systems.
Remove lower strap fittings (2).
Remove anchor fitting for middle upper strap (3).
Installation:
Ensure correct installation sequence and installation position:
- Fittings of center lower strap/center upper strap must rest on stop (1).
- Secure lower strap on left and right through guides (2).
Removing lower strap fittings with belt tensioner (if necessary):
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 72 11 23AZ [1][2]Seat Belt Systems.
Remove lower strap fittings (2) on left and right.
Remove lower strap fitting (3).
Installation:
Holder for lower strap fitting (3) must be fitted below lower strap fitting on right (2).
