51 16 214 - Removing and installing/replacing trim for preselector lever (M5, M6)





Lever out gaiter (1) at catches (2).





Reach into trim (1) and unclip upwards from retainers (2).





Important!
Risk of damage!
Gaiter (1) can be damaged on trim (2) when fed out.

Press gaiter (1) together slightly and feed out through trim (2).





Disconnect plugs (1 and 2).
Remove finisher strip (3).

Installation Note:
Plug connection (2) must be correctly clipped into trim (3).





Installation Note:
Felt strip (1) must not be missing or damaged.

Replacement:
- Remove switch for SMG transmission (2) Removing and Installing/Replacing Switch For SMG Transmission (M5/M6)

- Remove switch for EDC (3) Service and Repair

- Remove DSC switch (4) Service and Repair

- Remove power switch (5) Service and Repair
