Flex Plate: Service and Repair

11 22 510 - Removing and installing/replacing flywheel (N73)





Special tools required:
- 11 9 260 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection
- 11 9 263 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection
- 11 9 264 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative terminal Instructions for Disconnecting and Connecting Battery.
- Remove and install center equipment compartment bulkhead 51 71 085 Removing and installing center of assembly compartment bulkhead.

- Remove and install front underbody protection.
- Remove and install complete exhaust system Removing and Installing Complete Exhaust System.
- Remove and install reinforcing plate Service and Repair.
- Remove and install automatic transmission Removing and Installing Automatic Transmission (6HP26Z/6HP32Z).





Block flywheel (1) with special tool. 11 9 260 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection / 11 9 263 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection / 11 9 264 11 9 260 Counter Support with Screw Connection.
Unfasten flywheel screws.
Remove flywheel (1).

Installation:
Flywheel (1) is secured with an alignment pin.
Fit new flywheel screws.
Clean crankshaft thread for flywheel screws.

Installation:
Tightening torque, 11 22 1AZ 11 22 Flywheel.





Assemble engine.
