Correcting Fluid Level in Hydraulic Unit for Rear Lid Actuation (Electrohydraulic-Fully Automatic)
51 24 660 - Correcting fluid level in hydraulic unit for rear lid actuation (electrohydraulic-fully automatic)
Caution!
Do not under any circumstance remove fluid tank from hydraulic unit.
Use fluid from "Small parts for hydraulic unit" set.
Note:
Hydraulic unit removed.
- Follow notes and instructions for automatic rear lid actuation Notes on Automatic Rear Lid Actuation (Electrohydraulic-Fully Automatic) (electrohydraulic-fully automatic).
Ideal filling:
Set hydraulic unit (1) down on a horizontal surface (4).
Damper (3) and valve (5) must not rest on surface.
Check distance (B) from middle of marking (2) to lower edge of hydraulic unit (1).
B = - 45±1 mm
After correction, fluid level (2) must be in upper area (A) of marking (2).
Correcting fluid level:
Release screws (1).
Detach electric motor (2) with drive flange (3) from pump carrier (4).
Installation Note:
Tightening torque, 51 24 3AZ [1][2]Specifications.
Installation Note:
Replace sealing ring (1) on drive flange (2).
Note:
Hydraulic fluid (4) seeps into fluid tank (6) through two bores under deep-groove ball bearing (2).
Fill hydraulic fluid (4) between cylinder star (5) and deep-groove ball bearing (2).
Lift pump carrier (3) several times at valve (1), air escapes from fluid tank (6) more quickly.
Set pump carrier (1) down on a horizontal surface (3).
Damper (4) and valve (2) must not rest on surface.
Fluid level (2) must be in upper area (A) of marking (5), correct if necessary.
When ideal filling is achieved:
Connect hydraulic unit in vehicle to hydraulic hoses.
Close rear lid (motor-driven) twice and open again, this bleeds the system.
Hold hydraulic unit with drive (1) all round vertically upwards.
Fluid level (2) must be in area (A) of marking (3) with rear lid fully open (cylinder retracted).
