Fan Clutch: Service and Repair

11 52 020 - Removing and installing or replacing fan clutch (N73)





Special tools required:
- 11 5 040 11 5 040 Open-Ended Spanner WAF 32
- 11 5 050





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove radiator cover.
- Remove engine cover.





Detach fan wheel with special tools 11 5 050 and 11 5 040 11 5 040 Open-Ended Spanner WAF 32 (union nut) from water pump.

Important!
Left-hand threads.

Remove fan wheel with fan coupling from water pump.

Tightening torque 11 52 1AZ 11 52 Fan
Remove fan clutch in conjunction with fan cowl Removing and Installing/Replacing Fan Cowl.

Installation:
Set 30 Nm when using special tool 11 5 040 11 5 040 Open-Ended Spanner WAF 32.





Unfasten screws and detach fan from fan coupling.





Assemble engine.
Check function of fan clutch.
