51 13 115 Removing And Installing/Replacing Cowl Panel Cover




51 13 115 - Removing and installing / replacing cowl panel cover





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove both windshield wiper arms Removing and Installing/Replacing Both Windshield Wiper Arms





Pull off rubber seal (1).





Pull off corners of cover from windshield (1).
If necessary, release locks on cover (2).

Installation:
If necessary, remove butyl remnants from windshield (1).





Installation:
Make sure cover (1) is correctly seated on side panel (2) and seal (3).





Lift cover (1) upwards slightly.
Pull tube (2) out of cover (1).
Remove line (3) together with rubber seal from cover (1).





Unclip line (2) from holders (1).
Removing cowl panel cover





Installation:
If necessary, replace defective grommets (1).
Check holder (2) for correct seating.





Installation:
Clips (1) must not be missing or damaged.
Apply some butyl (sourcing reference: BMW Parts Service) in corners of cover (2) in area (3):
- Width 3 mm
- Length approx. 6 cm.
Remove excess butyl from windshield.
