Valve Guide Seal: Service and Repair

11 34 560 - Replacing all valve stem seals (M52/S52/M52TU/M54/M56)





Special tools required:
- 11 1 200 11 1 200 Drift
- 11 1 480 11 1 480 Pliers
- 11 1 960 11 1 960 Assembly Sleeves

(cylinder head removed)





Preliminary tasks are described in Disassembling and assembling cylinder head Disassembling and Assembling Cylinder Head (M52/S52/M52TU/M54/M56).

Remove all valve springs Service and Repair.





Remove valve stem seal with special tool 11 1 480 11 1 480 Pliers.





Lubricate valve stem with oil and insert valve. Fit special tool 11 1 960 11 1 960 Assembly Sleeves.

Coat new valve stem seal (1) with oil and install.





Press valve stem seal firmly home by hand with special tool 11 1 200 11 1 200 Drift.
